For those who prefer to admire the ocean fauna in Xcaret Park without getting into the water can see a great exhibition of marine life at the Coral Reef Aquarium at Xcaret.
At this Xcaret Park attraction, visitors can explore the underwater world by observing corals, sponges, starfish, tropical fish and crustaceans. Xcaret Aquarium contains more than 5,000 organisms and 500 species distributed in tanks that are bathed by the Caribbean waters.
Xcaret´s Aquarium reproduces the Mexican Caribbean coral reef ecosystems with the most natural conditions so organisms such as coral, fishes, algae and sponges can live together. In each corner of a coral a microorganism is reproduced, creating different communities just as in a natural coral reef.
At Xcaret´s Aquarium visitors can observe many species of fish such as angel fish and parrot fish swimming through the colorful corals. Large morays sleep quietly within the rock formations. One of the highlights of the Aquarium at Xcaret includes a group of yellow and pink seahorses swimming slowly with the ocean´s currents.
Other species that can be seen close up are sea cucumbers, manta rays and lobsters. At the last section of the Xcaret´s Aquarium, one enters the Turtle exhibition where visitors can observe and even encounter hundreds of turtles swimming in a natural lagoon.
All Xcaret Tickets include entrance to the Coral Reef Aquarium, from the Xcaret Basic entrance to the personalized Xcaret Tour (Xcaret Plus, Xcaret Two Days).
